How to approve or reject reviews
Moderate incoming reviews before they go live on your storefront using the Reviewifyd review queue.
1The review moderation queue
By default, all new reviews land in the Moderation Queue before being published. You can change this to auto-publish in Settings → Reviews → Moderation. We recommend keeping moderation on for at least your first 30 days.
2Approving a review
In the Reviewifyd dashboard:
- 1Go to Reviews → Pending (the badge shows the count of pending reviews).
- 2Click on any review card to expand it.
- 3Read the review, check the star rating, and verify the reviewer's name.
- 4Click 'Approve' — the review is published to your storefront immediately.
You can approve multiple reviews at once by selecting their checkboxes and choosing 'Bulk approve' from the Actions menu.
3Rejecting a review
If a review violates your policies (spam, offensive language, unrelated content):
- 1Expand the review card and click 'Reject'.
- 2Select a rejection reason from the dropdown — this is for internal tracking only and is not shown to the customer.
- 3Click 'Confirm rejection'. The review is archived and will not appear on your storefront.
Do not reject reviews simply because they are negative. Shopify's app policies and consumer laws in many countries prohibit selective removal of genuine negative reviews.
4Setting up auto-publish rules
In Settings → Reviews → Moderation, you can create rules to auto-approve reviews that meet certain criteria — for example, reviews with 4+ stars and no flagged words. This saves time while keeping problematic content in the queue.
